SUSTAINABILITY

Sustainable practices delivered with complete transparency.

Where are you located? 1A Grant Street, Kamo - Whangarei

What services do you offer? Bridal Styling / Colours / Cuts.

What waste do you create?

Currently we’re responsible for..

  • The hair that is swept away after a haircut, which is collected and then composted alongside the loose tea leaves post use.

  • The recyclable glass/plastic packaging from wine served in salon and styling products.

  • The recyclable aluminium foil (made possible thanks to REFOIL) and colour tubes.

  • Bobby pins used in my ‘up-dos’.

  • Then there’s water usage via our ECOHEAD tap and power used for styling tools, computer, eftpos terminal, music, lighting and washing machine.

What’s on the menu? We offer coffee (dairy/oat), an array of loose leaf organic teas blended in New Zealand by Noble & Sunday, not only that but we offer craft beer alongside red/white wine (subject to availability).

What styling products do you use?  DAVINES and ELEVEN

What colour do you use?  DAVINES and REDKEN

PERMANENT / SEMI : Mask with Vibrachrom™ is an innovative permanent cream-based coloring system using technology that is unprecedented in the beauty industry.

DEMI: Redken Shades EQ isn’t your run-of-the-mill hair gloss. In fact, it’s the haircolor that thinks it’s a conditioner and delivers fast, professional color results. After a gloss service, you'll leave the salon with healthier looking and feeling hair with beautiful shine.

LIGHTENING : The Century of Light is Davines’ new premium bleaching system, formulated to respect and protect hair during any lightening technique.

Why do your prices sit higher in comparison to other local salons?

    Well put simply..

    • We offer 'one to one client service' meaning we have complete focus on you and your hair without juggling several clients at a time.

    • Our colours and cuts are designed to last meaning you aren’t having to be back in salon every 6 weeks.

    • We care for the environment meaning we choose to invest in high end colour and haircare that’s cleaner and safer to both you and our planet.

    • We value and nurture our salon family meaning we choose to pay them well and invest in ongoing training both in salon and on location.

How far in advance do I need to book? As little as 4 weeks.

What payment methods do you accept? Afterpay (3% SURCHARGE), cash, debit card and/or direct bank transfer.

What is your cancellation policy? All salon services require 48 hours notice (less than will result in a 50% cancellation fee).

Can I ‘tag’ you in my images? Of course you can! Simply tag @karavellane from there we’ll do our best to LIKE and SHARE your images showcasing your new do.
